During tough seasons of transition and change, Steering Through Chaos by Scott Wilson shows pastors, staff and board members how to gain momentum rather than lose it. We¹ve all heard the saying, Change is good. But it can also feel frightening and invasive. In the midst of a transition, many church leaders struggle with clouded vision and doubt that they have a real, authentic calling from God. According to Steering Through Chaos: Mapping a Clear Direction for Your Church in the Midst of Transition and Change by Scott Wilson, it doesn’t have to be that way. You can maintain a crystal-clear vision during times of change and transition, and boost your churchs momentum rather than start to drift.
Addressing common transitions like the building of new facilities, changing of staff structure, addition of new services and becoming a multi-site ministry, Steering Through Chaos is the ideal resource for a church staff or leadership team facing the challenges of change now, or the inevitable change to come. Wilson writes from the trenches; his church has tripled in size over the past three years, forcing him to ask the crucial question: How can a church of yesterday transition to a church of tomorrow? As patterns shifted all around him, he learned powerful strategies for steering a church through the process of change and he¹s passionate about sharing them.
Steering Through Chaos shows us how God’s greatest promises only happen when we submit to His deepest intrusions into our lives, says George Wood, superintendent of the Assemblies of God USA. Scott Wilson’s communication style leaves little doubt as to why he has become such a powerful, young leader.
With chapters like Discover a Compelling Vision, Thrive in Chaos and Celebrate Every Step of the Way, Wilson offers pastors, staff and board members transferable principles for strategic communication and capturing the critical opportunities change affords. Each chapter concludes with thought-provoking discussion questions to help a church staff work through the ideas together. Though he draws on his 20-plus years of pastoral experience, Wilson also taps the expertise of other seasoned pastors like Larry Osborne of North Coast Church in Vista, Calif., Dino Rizzo of Healing Place Church in Baton Rouge, La., and Geoff Surratt of Seacoast Church in Mount Pleasant, S.C. Each leader shares key principles he¹s gleaned from helping his own church navigate change.

lol most of the reviews folks write are kinda silly, on occasion i ask myself whether they in actual fact read the articles or reviews and content before writing a comment or if perhaps they pretty much read the subject of the post and come up with the first thing that comes to mind. anyways, it’s relaxing to browse clever commentary occasionally rather than the identical, classic post vomit which i generally observe on the net
